A completed snapshot exists. Freshness, integrity verification, and recovery readiness are shown separately, never rolled into one green tick.

▲Partial data

Known eligible inventory is shown alongside 91% device discovery coverage, so full protection of known assets is not confused with proof every device is inventoried.

■Data unavailable

A device that has not reported cannot provide a complete file inventory. Its assets are a visibility gap, not automatically protected.

■No access

An executive may see the counts without permission to browse files. The rate opens; the contents do not.

✕Failed

A failed newest capture does not erase a previously usable recovery point. Both facts are shown; the headline state follows the section 8 precedence rules.

●No exceptions

When every eligible asset meets policy, the exception table shows an explicit all-clear, so an empty list is never mistaken for a data failure.

One mutually exclusive headline state per eligible asset (Protected, Stale, Failed, Never backed up, Exempt), evaluated against the latest completed manifest, required scope, device inventory freshness, and policy. Exempt assets are removed from the rate's denominator with a recorded reason and expiry. Synthetic fixture data, not a real customer's figures.
